                                        I would like to T.s.Eliot explain to Tradition and Individual Talent of criticism. Eliot’s idea of tradition is complex and unusual, involving something he describes as “the historical sense” which is a perception of “the pastness of the past” but also of its “presence.”

                                       In this essay, Eliot does not describe "traditional" as old-fashioned. Rather, for him, traditional means that a poem is a particular part of the general whole of all poetry in history. Historical sense is a perception that past is not something that is lost or invalid. Rather it has a function in the present.
